Set on a quiet bay on Lake Minnetonka, this 1940's modern home is in phase one of a sleek yet beachy transformation. The homeowner's are long-time Streeter clients, with an eye for design, architecture and seeing the potential in unique properties — according to Scott Harris, Senior Project Manager at Streeter Renovation. As seen in the proposed exterior rendering and plan designed by Jeff Lindgren of JALIN Design, the project vision is clear. Revitalize this very cool, modern home.
Contemporary in feel, this lake house is layered in natural Cedar lapp siding and Rheinzink panels composed over a Bluestone base. Set on a lake bluff surrounded by a forest of ancient Oak trees, the inside materials palate is textural and warm with a slatted cedar wood ceiling, stone accents, Venetian plaster walls, walnut casework and dark painted window frames. The steel trusses, braces and railings reflect a slight Industrial tone, while the Japanese Shoji screened doorways provide lightness and elegance to complete this masterful project. Reminiscent of Ohio barns and nineteenth century stone farm buildings, this home was the vision of the homeowners and architect Sarah Nettleton. Interior Design by Jodi Gillespie Interior Design.
This classic beauty was completed just in time for the spring gardens to bloom and summer parties to be planned. This hill top home with sprawling green lawns, gracious interiors and welcoming entertaining spaces, was design by Murphy & Company Architecture. Located on a picturesque and private setting overlooking Lake Minnetonka, this new Spring project has begun with a flurry of activity, in proud collaboration with our clients. Builder Streeter & Associates, Peterssen/Keller Architecture, Alene Workman Interior Design and Landscape Architect Travis Van Liere Studio are the project team of this wonderful modern family lake home. Panoramic lake views and an open floor plan creates welcoming, light filled spaces for comfortable and flexible family living. A stone fireplace visually connects the roof to ground site lines, as the repeated stone base, large windows, stucco walls and transom windows recess to create a floating roof impression overall. The copper fascia and cedar eave detailing add warmth and texture to this modern design. Sprawling indoor and outdoor living areas will provide opportunities to relax, explore and enjoy the entire property year round.
Under construction and centrally located on the main floor of a spacious modern home renovation, stands a stunning fireplace that is truly special and unique. The design comes from the impressive vision of Peterssen/Keller Architecture, and the skilled craftsmanship of Streeter Renovation. With the keen eye of the homeowners and interior designer Andrew Flesher, the final selections completed this extraordinary focal point of the home.
Uniquely designed, this massive structural system incorporates a steel beam and column that support the main structure of the home, the roof and the cantilevered structure of the fireplace. The column is concealed and surrounded by an elegant surface of white Venetian plaster and gun-blue powder coated steel. The floating bench and hearth design is masterful and inviting.
Enjoy viewing our progress, and visit our site again soon to view the completed space.
Beloved by neighbors, pedestrians, and bicyclists, this elegant confection of a home on Lake Harriet is one of the few examples of the Vienna Secession style in the Twin Cities. The Vienna Secession movement was started in 1897 by a small group of artists and architects including Gustav Klimt, Josef Hoffman, Joseph Maria Olbrich, and others. Driven by a desire to break free from the confines of academic tradition, the young iconoclasts sought to define a new style of art and architecture. Like its Austrian cousin, this Minneapolis home combines simple geometric forms with elements of Art Nouveau and Classicism.
When a young couple from the East Coast discovered this landmark home, they commissioned Streeter & Associates to build an addition and restore the home to its original grandeur. Working closely with the clients and design team of Katharine Kremer and architect Kurt Baum, Streeter project managers Bob Near, Kevin Hilgers and a team of skilled craftsman - are working in collaboration with the utmost sensitivity to the home’s original context, bringing a new sense of freedom to this remarkable house.
Tasteful building of the new. Thoughtful renovation of the old. Whatever your architectural style – traditional, contemporary or a unique blend of both, we collaborate with leading architects and designers to define and craft a space that nourishes your spirit, captures your imagination and inspires your life. This historical and breathtaking renovation overlooking Lake of the Isles, will be completed in Spring 2013. In collaboration and appreciation of our visionary homeowners, project architects Peterrsen / Keller and Mary Hickey Interiors.

Enjoy viewing stunning images of our recently completed renovation of a historic International Style home on Cedar Lake. A designated Minneapolis Landmark, this stylish home is loved for its modernist expression, Art Deco influences, and beautiful lakefront views. Among the changes, a new third floor was added to create a master suite aerie with sweeping terrace and panoramic views. The team of Peterssen Keller Architecture and Streeter Renovation, worked closely with the Minneapolis Historic Preservation Commission to add more space and energy efficient updates while respecting the integrity and scale of the original design. This home was favorite destination on the Minnesota 2011 AIA HOMES BY ARCHITECTS TOUR.
The Georgian style of architecture is synonymous with the age of elegance. The Classic Georgian style evolved -veering between elegant restraint and exuberant ornamentation, while retaining its key elements — a commitment to quality and attention to detail. Emphasis always on the symmetrical grand façade, with columns or pilasters highlighting the importance of the main floor, grand stairway and focal point of the front door.
Near Lake Harriet in Minneapolis, this newly completed Georgian style home is the pride of Streeter Renovation, Engler Studio and Peterssen Keller Architects. A significant renovation, new garage, and rear addition provided new and updated spacious rooms including an eat-in kitchen, mudroom, butler pantry, home office and family room that overlooks an expansive patio and backyard spaces. The second floor showcases an elegant master suite. A collection of new and antique furnishings, modern art, and sunlit rooms, compliment the traditional architectural detailing, dark wood floors, and enameled woodwork. A true masterpiece.
